Wedding Sparrow isn't just a wedding blog as some of you may know. We also style shoots for publication and will be launching a separate styling website and portfolio in the New Year. It's our hobby and our hard work all rolled into one. A way of showing vendors the aesthetic we love so much - fine art. It's also a way of meeting amazing vendors in every category and we love working with talented people. This trip to Paris was a particularly international collaboration! Our incredible film photographer Laura Gordon travelled all the way from Virginia, USA, our hair and make up Sarah Miller came from Madrid and even the blooms from Bo Boutique we used crossed the border from the UK to France (despite the threat of confiscation!).
These styled shoots wouldn't be what they are without the couples that 'star' in them. Oli and Phillip came from Germany just for this shoot (and an impromptu weekend away in Paris!) and from the moment we met them we were all in love with how in love they were with each other! The hard work of travelling to another country with tens of thousands of pounds worth of wedding dresses and props and running around different locations is totally worth it when your film scans return and they look like this. I cannot recommend Laura Gordon enough as a film photographer. We're already planning on a trip to see Laura in the US for our wedding vow renewal! Mr Sparrow just doesn't know it yet...
We're continuing the European theme this week whilst we're in Rome at Retreat Gatherings today! We had two shoots whilst in Paris (stayed tuned for the other shoot!) and I wanted them to have totally different looks. We dressed Oli in a beautifully embellished Temperley London gown with custom made crown from Enchanted Atelier. Phillip wore a Hugo Boss tuxedo with velvet bow tie and both looked perfectly suited to an evening at the Parisian Opera...

Styling ~ Wedding Sparrow Our location in Paris was a perfect combination of formal (ivy covered walls and manicured gardens) and informal (stone texture and peeling paint on old doors). Hidden in a corner in deepest, darkest Paris we'll never tell anyone where this is... Photography ~ Laura Gordon

Styling ~ Wedding Sparrow This shoot was planned in a little over 3 weeks so we worked with a limited time frame but wanted to add some DIY aspects to tell the story. This tea stained music sheet is a copy of a French Opera music sheet and added purpose to their formal Parisian story. Photography ~ Laura Gordon
