Elegant Old World Wedding Inspiration

When we heard the talented stylist Joy Proctor and film photographer Kurt Boomer were creating magic together, we knew it would be perfection. Our Fine Art Curation member Zosia Zacharia Photography was on hand to capture it at the Kurt Boomer Workshop and we're in love. In love with the moody tones, the black and gold cake from Sweet & Saucy Shop, the delicate boudoir inspiration from La Lilouche and the artisinal calligraphy from Written Word Calligraphy. From Zosia Zacharia Photography: "Joy Proctor wanted to create a glamorous look to match the stunning architecture of the venue, Villa Del Sol D’Oro for Kurt Boomer's film photography workshop. With this in mind she worked her magic to create an original colour palette of black, gold, lavender greys and a look that harked back to old Hollywood glamour. On the day we had perfect light, a cool start to the early morning in LA but by 10am the sun was up and out and by the late afternoon we had the most beautiful golden hour sunshine you could ask for as natural light photographer. Make up artist Jess Wilcox created old fashioned 1920’s curls for the bride with lavender eye make up and a soft pop to her lips. The shoot naturally began with the bride getting ready on a chaise lounge in beautiful La Lilouche lingerie. The bride wore a beautiful Paolo Sebastian Gown which was made of delicately beaded lace and made the perfect back drop for antique diamonds by Trumpet & Horn while the groom wore black tie. The black paper stationery suite with gold modern calligraphy & monograms by Written Word Calligraphy made for a stunning center piece which tied the whole look together. A back bar was set up on the lawn with a lounge suite, which included a gramophone  and decanters set up for guests to lounge and sip cocktails. The bar displayed a black wedding cake, champagne flutes and guest seating assignments. The table top pieces from Classic Vintage Rentals finished off the whole look and almost stole the show.  With a soft lavender grey silk runner from Silk & Willow, gently floating gently to the ground, the glamorous theme continued with gold trimmed chargers, glassware and cutlery. The dramatic floral's in tones of deep reds glowed a velvety softness against the grey and gold."
